What is the purpose and legal basis of our processing of personal data?
Apollo processes this information for the purpose of helping our customers discover new B2B prospects, validate and correct existing data, execute direct marketing, and improve sales/marketing processes. This may include using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to enhance our services and provide more accurate and relevant recommendations to our users. Apollo relies on our legitimate interests, as well as those of our customers, to collect and share personal data with our clients for the purposes listed.
What personal data do we collect to provide our Services?
Apollo collects business contact and similar information related to individuals when they are acting in their professional or employment capacity, including:
Name
Contact information such as business email address (including "freemails" such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) or phone number
Information about the individual's role with the business (including the name of the business, title, professional responsibilities and functions, office location as provided by the individual, and education)
Professional social media profile information
Job history and title(s)
We may also make inferences about these business contacts, such as their likelihood to be interested in a B2B product or service offered by one of our customers.
How did we collect your personal data?
Apollo collects and verifies data against multiple data sources. There are 3 main ways in which Apollo collects data:
Data Contributor Network: data contributors share information about their business contacts while using Apollo services (as described in our Terms of Service, described at https://www.apollo.io/terms, or other agreements). This includes when customers agree to and use Apollo's Email Finder, Open Tracker, or similar features, which Apollo may use to extract business contact information and other business-related data from this content for its own business purposes (e.g., inclusion in Apollo's Contributor Database, analytics, and commercial data products). This may have included emails exchanged with you or emails in which your business contact details appeared.
Public Sources: Apollo employs proprietary algorithms that regularly scan the web on a large scale. We parse information from public-facing websites, creating a comprehensive web-wide index of people and company data.
Trusted Third-Party Data Providers: Apollo processes records from verified third-party data providers that we contract with and trust.
Who do we share your personal data with
Subject to restrictive licenses and regulatory restrictions, Apollo may share your business contact data with its customers, partners, or their customers. These recipients, being legitimate business organizations who service or sell products to other businesses and non-profit organisations, are granted the right to use the information for lawful sales, marketing, and recruiting purposes.
How do we use artificial intelligence with your data?
In accordance with our AI Policy, Apollo leverages artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance our services. We may use your business contact information as inputs to machine learning models to improve our platform's functionality, including automated email personalization, insight generation, and other sales and marketing features. We partner with third-party AI providers (listed in our Trust Center) to deliver these capabilities. This automated processing does not produce legal effects or significantly affect you as it relates only to business prospecting activities. Our AI Policy can be viewed here: https://www.apollo.io/ai-policy
Is your personal data subject to international transfers?
The personal data that Apollo processes when providing its services is hosted in the United States.
