Thawani Pay

Thawani Pay, operated by Thawani Technologies LLC, is an Omani company founded in March 2016. It specializes in innovative e-payment solutions that enhance transaction speed and security. Recognized as a pioneer in Oman's fintech sector, Thawani Pay became the first non-banking financial entity licensed by the Central Bank of Oman in 2020.The company offers a variety of e-payment services for both merchants and individuals, including invoicing services, payment links, digital wallets, and a payment gateway. Additional services include Soft POS, prepaid cards, bill payments, money transfers, insurance options, digital onboarding, facial recognition payments, and an online ticketing platform. Thawani Pay has established partnerships with notable organizations such as Oman Oil Marketing Company and the Royal Oman Police. With over 90,000 active users and more than 3,500 registered merchants, the company processed 4.6 million transactions valued at $173 million in 2023. Thawani Pay plans to expand its offerings in 2024 with new products, including a discount platform and Buy Now Pay Later services.
