Wadi Noor Solar Power Company (WNSPC) is a joint venture between EDF Renewables Middle East and Korea Western Power Co Ltd (KOWEPO). The company is focused on supporting Oman's sustainable transformation through solar energy, aiming for net-zero emissions. WNSPC is committed to advancing solar technology, fostering local talent, and collaborating with communities to promote a greener future.WNSPC owns and operates the Manah I Solar IPP, a 500-megawatt solar power generation facility located in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. The plant utilizes advanced bifacial PV modules and single-axis tracker systems to optimize energy yield. It is designed to avoid 780,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually and employs innovative technologies, such as automated dry-cleaning robots, to enhance clean electricity generation. The Manah I project is set to supply clean energy to approximately 60,000 to 75,000 Omani households, supporting the country's growing electricity demand. The plant is scheduled to begin commercial operations in March 2025.
