From a quiet beginning as an arts college in 1955, St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad (SXCA), has risen to be the number one institution of Arts and Science in the state of Gujarat. The College is managed by the Gujarat Province of Society of Jesus and is affiliated to Gujarat University. The College has been accredited by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), since 2001 and has been rated Grade ‘A' (3.41 out of 4 CGPA Score) in the third cycle in 2013. Taking note of the consistent efforts of the College to provide a world class education, the UGC has granted the College autonomous status on June 19, 2014. More recently in June 2020, NIRF undertaken by the MHRD ranked the College at 59th position in the country, and GSIRF ranked us No.1 in the state.
