In 2011, Montana Melee was a group of less than twenty video gamers playing in a fighting game tournament at the local mall.  The number of gamers participating in Montana Melee has grown considerably since that 2011 event, but the true testament of Montana Melee's success is the growth it shows by making an impact for both participating gamers and the local community by organizing a truly ambitious and memorable weekend video game event every summer.  Montana Melee takes great pride in sharing its achievements with its friends and fans including:•          Medals given out to the top players in every event.  (2011 – current)•          Providing content via social media (2011 – current)•          Press coverage from local newspapers, TV, and radio (2011, 2013 – current)•          Launching www.montanamelee.com with online registration (2012 – current)•          Sponsorship from regional and national companies (2013 – current)•          Hosting a live web stream of the event on Twitch (2013 – current)•          Running an exhibition event for a national sponsor creating player/brand engagement (2014)•          Coordinating and executing a donation drive for Watson Children's Shelter of Missoula, MT during the event (2014)•          Introducing our fundraising brand, Achievement Unlocked, at Montana Melee V (2015)•          Raising $1,000 for Watson Children's Shelter in 2016 at Montana Melee VI in an upgraded venue at Ruby's Inn and Convention Center (2016)
