The League holds workshops, children's exhibitions, membership meetings, three juried exhibitions are held annually and members' art is for viewing and sale continuously. In September of 2008, the gallery suffered a total loss when hurricane IKE scored a direct hit on Galveston Island and nearly eight feet of flood water inundated the gallery. The Board decided to rebuild the gallery and beginning in March of 2009, the space was completely remodeled with a loft area for our offices to protect valuable records from flooding.
