*JrWPG is run and operated by volunteers*World Partnership Golf (WPG) is Canada's only national golf event in support of international development. An initiative of Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC), World Partnership Golf takes place in seven Canadian cities and raises funds for vital poverty alleviation programs in Africa and Asia. AKFC addresses the root causes of poverty through programs in health care, education, rural development as well as initiatives that strengthen community-based organizations. All net proceeds raised from WPG help leverage additional support from major donors like the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and other donors around the world.In unity with the 10th anniversary of World Partnership Golf, the Junior World Partnership Golf (JrWPG) launched in Vancouver on July 14, 2009. The inaugural tournament played host to over 65 youth aged 8-15 and their adult partners and raised over $3500 for AKFC.The Tournament is now in its 2nd year and will be held on August 22, 2010 at Country Meadows Golf Course in Richmond, BC.For more information on the tournament, including registration and sponsorship opportunities, email jrvancouver@worldpartnershipgolf.com
