The program mission of StrongMinds America (SMA) is to promote the mental health and emotional wellbeing of adolescents and youth through advocacy,education, prevention, and intervention.SMA is working to end America's youth mental health crisis by providing education, advocacy, and delivering group therapy for depression to adolescents and young adults ages 16-25 facilitated by culturally competent mental health professionals. Over 60% of youth with depression do not receive care. We work to eliminate barriers to mental health care like cost, lack of access, lack of diversity among providers, stigma, and fear or mistrust of treatment. Our depression counseling model has been clinically tested and specifically designed to reach youth.
