Florida Grand Opera (FGO), America's seventh-oldest opera company, has served the communities of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties since its founding as the Opera Guild of Greater Miami by Arturo di Filippi in 1941. Today, under the leadership of General Director and CEO Susan T. Danis, Florida Grand Opera (FGO) is one of the Southeast's most vibrant performing arts organizations, presenting a mainstage season of inspiring artistic depth and breadth. Over the past year, the FGO has received outstanding reviews from Opera News, Opera UK, Opera Canada, Opera Now, and a myriad of other opera publications.  Serving two substantial regional patron bases, the FGO performs at major theaters in both locations: the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts Ziff Ballet Opera House in Miami, and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Au-Rene Theatre in Fort Lauderdale. Founded in 2006 by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi, Orchestra Miami exists to fill the unique cultural needs of our community. The Orchestra's main goal is to provide low-cost, high-quality artistic experiences that build community and provide programming which would otherwise be unavailable in South Florida. Equally important goals are to provide quality symphonic concerts to those whose economic circumstances prevent them from purchasing a ticket, and to provide children and their families with opportunities to experience classical music, make it a part of their lives, and use it as a tool for learning and enjoyment. Orchestra Miami's signature programs include its "Beethoven on the Beach" free outdoor concerts, its "Discover Miami Through Music" series, its many collaborations with the Miami Dade County Public Schools and the new Family Fun Concert Series. Orchestra Miami consists of a select group of professional musicians, all permanent residents of South  Florida, whose collective body is unparalleled in terms of excellence and experience. Led by Founder and Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi, Orchestra Miami continues to exceed expectations in terms of programming and artistic quality. Clarity of storytelling will be the bedrock of every production.Respect the AudienceOf our three tenets, this is the most vital.  Without an audience, there is no opera.  They are the keystone of every performance.  We believe that the experience of the audience is the only true barometer of success.  Furthermore, we believe that opera is an art form that is accessible to ALL audiences, and that part of showing respect is a commitment to finding ways to provide exposure and access.

We are a diverse Christian congregation of 250 families set in a resort community with deeply religious roots and a strong manufacturing and agricultural base.  Our congregation covers a broad spectrum of age and economic means.  While many of us are lifelong Episcopalians, some members have come from other faith  communities, finding St. John's a welcoming family.  Our Sunday attendance averages 170, with many snowbirds migrating south in the winter and returning when the resort season begins. We have numerous summer visitors, including some cottage owners who return to St. John's annually.  We also draw from the larger population of Ottawa County and other nearby counties.
