We identify health problems through sound epidemiological methods and qualitative research, use a range of analytic and research methods to generate evidence, then test and evaluate interventions in a real-world setting. We furthermore provide technical assistance, advocacy and capacity building to ensure effective implementation, and finally translate evidence into policy. Our portfolio spans the following focus areas: • HIV (Care, Treatment Implementation & Prevention)• Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH)• Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs)Much of our work is with populations that are most in need, marginalised, or hard-to-reach: • Women; • Pregnant women and mother and infant pairs; • Adolescents (including young men, and young women and girls); • Adults and children and those with TB; and • Key populations Wits RHI works across all of South Africa's nine provinces.
