Plavinci wines are made from the organically certified grapes grown in our own vineyards. We do not use any synthetic chemicals in our vineyards. Soil is maintained in a healthy condition with mulched and left-in-place cover crop (no-till) and compost tea made from our own plant material from our organic vegetable gardens and the vineyard itself. Pest control is provided by biodiversity where abundant natural predators have habitat.We do not use any additives. Must is fermented with natural yeast. We do not clarify or filter our red wine, and white and rosé are clarified only with bentonite and only in years with high phenolic concentration.We do not use animal-based products, either in the vineyard or winery and our wine can be considered vegan.There are many we do nots above, so the question is what do we do in our winery. Very little. We add a little sulphur just before the bottling. Our wines typically have 20-40 g/l of total sulphur when bottled.Our wines are different every year.
