The Government Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technological Institute was founded in 1938 by Sir Mirza Ismail and Sir M. Visvesvaraya to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of His Highness Nalwadi Krishnarajendra Wodeyar Bahadur, Maharaja of Mysore. Affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and located in Bangalore, Karnataka, the institute was established with the aim of providing well-trained personnel for higher rungs of the organized textile industry. Today, it is the tallest institution in South India and is under the control of the Department of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka.The institute has a proud legacy of celebrating its milestones with great fervor. The Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee were celebrated by the Alumni Association on a grand scale, with past students from different parts of the country and abroad participating in the joyous occasion.Located in the serene surroundings of a lush green campus at KR Circle, GSKSJTI is adjacent to the picturesque Cubbon Park, and a stone's throw away from prominent landmarks such as Vidhana Soudha, Karnataka High Court, and City Civil Court. The campus houses the departments of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Textile Technology, and Silk Technology.
