The Holding of Bonab Sanat Complex steel factory with the goal of having activities in various fields of steel industry established from several major hot rolling and melting companies. This Holding started its activities from the late of (2005) in an area of 140 hectares with the ideal infrastructure facilities including access to major roads, railways, power plants, transmission lines such as: gas and water, in several phases in industrial city of Bonab.The Holding of Bonab Sanat Complex steel factory has four subsidiary factories and totally contains seven hot rolling lines and two melting shops and continuous casting lines.Types of ribbed steel bar, beam, angles, channel bars and rods of alloy are producing in hot rolling lines and steel billets with the dimensions of 150 × 150 in 12 or 6 meters in length are producing in melting and casting lines.It should be noted that the second line in melting and casting of this factory that has been exploited in 92 (2014) contains Electric Arc Furnace with a capacity of 50 thousand now, Bonab Sanat complex steel factory is the only holder of this technology in northwest of the country.The nominal capacity of this production set in hot rolling of steel sections is two million and five hundred thousand tons and it is eight hundred thousand tons of steel billets in melting and casting unit for per year. This Industrial complex has schedules in development ofits projects and seriously is following the fulfillment of its production lines to increase the production capacity and it is the company's major project in construction phase that it will be used for production of sponge iron and steel billets with the capacity of one and a half million tons and two hot rolling lines in heavy and mid heavy section, is in schedule of activities.

Sahand University of Technology (SUT) was established in 1989 in Tabriz, the capital of art and technology in Iran.  SUT is proud of being a campus university with integrated and sophisticated facilities. The academic activities of SUT are conducted in three campuses including Sahand Campus located in Sahand new town 25 km fr Tabriz in an area of 400 hectares comprised of central management, administration, educational and research units and academic faculties, Tabriz Campus located in industrial part of Tabriz, comprised of Electronic Learning, Technology Incubation Center including spin-out companies and Open Training Center, and Varzeqan Campus, so-called Varzeqan Technical College located in Varzeqan in the vicinity of Sugun copper mine located in 97 km of Tabriz, offering technology and engineering education.SUT operates academic faculties and research institutes and centers to provide education and research activities. SUT offers over 20 BSc programs and more than 100 graduate programs of study in engineering, science and technology. More than half of students are enrolled in post-graduate courses. Our 190 outstanding mostly young academic staff along with a few thousand research associates, post-doctoral and post-graduate students conduct research in 32 research centers in various areas including Petroleum and Gas, Nanotechnology, Renewable Energy, ICT, Environment, Biotechnology, Mineral Processing, Advanced Materials, Structures, Automotive, Medical Engineering, and Productivity and have been able to perform finalized or in-progress research projects with an overall number of more than 400. I would like to say that SUT is proud of being the first organization to initiate the creation of self-funded demand-driven research centers being independent of government funds. In this regard, the research activities are funded solely through one-to-one contracts with various industries and companies.
