United Fellows is a social project, which aim is to convince polish teenagers to unconventional and practical ways of learning English. Its activity is divided in two parts. The first one focuses on sharing interesting articles and promoting events associated with this language on social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). The second part is based on organising different actions such as Movie Evenings, various discussions with native speakers or charity campaigns. The project has aquired many partners including The Rotary Club Warszawa Sobieski (D2230), which is the main supporter of the exchange.Our main action is the Intergenerational Speaking Exchange between English speaking elderly (native speakers) and polish high school students.Description of our actionFellow (noun)- soul mate, friend, buddy; someone close to you no matter what their age is, who will always support you and willingly talk on every subject.What is the aim? The aim of Intergenerational Speaking Exchange is to create a connection between Polish youth and English speaking (native speakers) elderly. Our action is dedicated for teenagers between 14 and 19 years old from Warsaw.How is it going to work? Each young participant will be assigned to a senior (Fellow). Once a week they will contact each other through Skype. Our programme offers a lot of benefits. Polish youth will not only develop their language skills, but what is most important both sides will create unique, intergenerational and intercultural bonds with each other.
