We believe "potential only matters if you use it," and we help foster youth transition from high school to college and from college to the work force. Our mentors are accomplished in fields including public policy, communications, business and the military. We work with smart, focused teens and young adults who are willing to spend part of their weekend with us to learn. Sara Start Fund events, typically held on Saturdays, explore life skills, encourage continuing education, and highlight different aspects of professionalism. Our dynamic "Saturday Sessions" incorporate lessons from the area's top professionals, and are held on location at their place of business, giving our "mentees" up-close, behind-the-scenes access. Saturday Sessions focus on such topics as dressing for the office, strategic storytelling, financial literacy, resume/interview skills, and cultural enrichment. Partners include Macy's Pentagon City, Bloomingdale's Friendship Heights, The Phillips Collection, Toastmasters, Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Jawbone, and the George Washington University. The Sara Start Fund is a project of the Charitable Partnership Fund a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, EIN 931267966.
