It is the mission of this organization to serve aspiring clinicians and abiding by the Vincentian mission. All values of the Vincentian mission will be abided by, but one in particular, such as giving a voice to the voiceless is a mission that will be held closely to our members. The marginalized and injustices in today's world allows aspiring clinicians to work with with various marginalized communities of Chicago and advocate for children with disabilities because there is an opportunity for a greater good. There is a possibility for change and potential in everyone, so the Pre-SLP Club is aspiring to do so with our future ventures as clinicians.The purpose/goal of this association is to gain knowledge and exposure in the field of speech-language pathology.Our goals include, but are not limited to:1. Developing service learning and educational partnerships with other institutions and clinics2. Encouraging the study of speech-language pathology and gain knowledge/exposure in the field ofSLP.3. Providing services and resources to students in regards to a profession in SLP.4. Be a source of information to prepare students and pre-professionals for practice in SLP5. Supporting the individual and collective interests of Pre-SLP Club members.6. Providing leadership development opportunities and a vehicle for student representation inmatters of professional concern (e.g., advocacy).
