Founded in 2007, Texforce is a leading renewable energy developer in the SADEC regionGlobally, the world is experiencing an energy crisis that will intensify unless fundamental changes are made to how power is generated. As traditional power generation technologies based on the use of fossil fuel are now well recognized to be unsustainable, the power generation industry is driven to search for alternatives. In many developed countries, the move towards renewable energy (RE) has been implemented over the last decade. In many developing countries however, notably those in the SADEC region, the shift to renewable energy is only just at its start.On top of intensifying environmental pressures, the power generation industry in the SADEC region faces further constraints such as aging infrastructure and limited capital to fund new projects. These factors together compels a necessary transformation of the power generation industry and RE will adopt an increasingly significant role in the energy generation mix.Against this backdrop, German entrepreneur Kai Arentz founded Texforce and teamed up with leading local business and project development experts in South Africa to bring RE solutions into the Southern Africa region.Today, Texforce is a joint-venture partnership between Kai Arentz, Cape Venture Partners (CVP), a Cape Town based specialist advisory and management services provider, and Mahlesedi Inkwali Energy Systems (MIES), an established power engineering solution provider. Texforce is currently focused on bringing solar and wind RE solutions into South Africa in order to help fulfill the country's electricity demand. In the long term, with the emergence of market opportunities, Texforce aims to also provide off-grid projects to supply 24/7 uninterrupted power supply to large industrial facilities.
