SMS was started in 1984 by Andrew Kuniholm after he graduated from George Mason University. Back then, we didn't have equipment. We had none of the inserters or continuous form laser machines that we have today. What we did have was a commitment to working hard and a passion for learning the direct mail business. Twenty-six years later, SMS Direct is still going strong, still growing and still totally committed to producing low cost, high quality direct mail. And Andrew Kuniholm is still the day to day general manager. The heart of SMS is our customer service team. However, saying we have a customer service team is a bit misleading because, in fact, our entire organization of 80 full time professionals is a customer service team.
