RideSmart Commuter Solutions is a free program offered through the Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation. We encourage anyone who lives, works, or manages a business in Prince George's County to try using transit, walking, biking, driving together, teleworking, or a combination of options. Our goal is to reduce drive-alone commuting to improve traffic congestion, air quality, and personal financial and physical health. We work towards our goals in a number of ways:For residents and employees: We can help with commute planning and promote free commuter programs like Guaranteed Ride Home and free ridematching, along with programs that reward commuters like incenTrip and CarpoolNow, and ‘PoolRewards. Our team is available to attend community or workplace events to help inform residents and employees in Prince George's County about these and other transportation programs.For employers: We help business owners and managers build or expand commuter benefits program. At a minimum, we can provide commuter program information to share with employees during orientation, benefits fairs, or anytime. We can help start new programs and evaluate current programs to get employees using transit, biking, driving together, and more. Having a benefits fair or other event? Invite us along! We highly encourage employers to provide commuter benefits, not only for recruitment/retention, and improving regional environmental quality, but most businesses can also reap financial rewards through the Maryland Commuter Tax Credit.
