RAVENSTAD PHOTOGRAPHYRoger Ravenstad has been a photographer since 1982 starting with his father's 1950's era Leica. As a landscape architecture and photography student his initial photography was that of documenting project sites. Studying in San Luis Obispo, California naturally led him to focus on the stunning California landscape, which to this day remains his favorite subject for photography. Roger is a practicing landscape architect with 25 years of experience creating parks and public open spaces that enrich quality of life. Rogers skill in landscape design principles give added dimension to his photography work where he accentuates the form color and harmony of the natural and manmade world in an attempt to capture the personality of a place.Roger has traveled and documented scenery over the years from places such as Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Norway, Mexico, and as a Peace Corp volunteer in Nepal. Roger now lives and photographs in the beautiful Livermore Valley. He also spends significant time exploring the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra Nevada.
