The National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) was established in 2000 under the Office of the Vice President and became a legal entity after the enactment of the Food Act (2005). The Agency is mandated to among other things:1. Coordinate all nutrition and nutrition-related activities in the country2. Implement proven Nutrition Interventions3. Facilitate inter-sectoral collaboration in the area of nutrition 4. Mobilize and manage resources5. Mainstream nutrition into other sector policies, programs and strategies6. Carry out Nutrition Policy Analysis, Research and Indicative Planning7. Serve as the Secretariat to the National Nutrition Council, Scaling Up of Nutrition (SUN) Movement and National Alliance for Food Fortification (NAFF).
