The National Geoscience Database(NGDIR) of Iran was established base on the "Third Development Program" policies of the Iranian governmental development strategic plan, initiated at the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI), Ministry of Industries and mine in the first place in 2001. Its purpose was to improve the share of Iranian geology, mines and mineral industries databases through web-base broadcasting and developing process and techniques in gross national production. National Geoscience Database of Iran collects information and data from governmental organs and companies, private companies, academic books and reports, papers and Internet all in earth science subjects.
