The Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB - National Basketball League) began in December 2008 and brought together the top leaders and most representative basketball clubs in Brazil. With the goal of establishing here the most modern and successful practices in sports management, the LNB brought to Brazil the ideal of the NBA: an independent league managed by the clubs and with the approval of the Confederação Brasileira de Basquete (CBB - Brazilian Basketball Confederation). The newly established LNB then created the NBB, the new Brazilian championship for men's basketball. TheNBB, in addition to contributing to the training and development of new athletes, seeks to renew and strengthen the technical quality of Brazilian basketball and to become a modern and professional championship, making the games spectacles for the public and offer top results for its sponsors.
