The MP-MD Apprenticeship program is an initiative started by Ontario medical students aiming to connect Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) with medical students to facilitate apprenticeships in local political offices. Apprentices have an opportunity to become involved in the inner workings of health policy development in our government, becoming better equipped advocates and potential policy makers in the future. Engaging with local offices also lends an advantage in learning about the local communities that medical students will serve and their respective issues.
