A co-owner of KWStudios with David Komar, Maria Winkler is a practicing and exhibiting artist whose paintings are included in the permanent collections of the Boise Art Museum, Boise, Idaho; California League of Women Artists, Sacramento, CA; Kaiser Permanente's Public Art Collection, the University of California Medical Center's Public Art Collection, and a number of corporate art collections. Her work also appears in published form as posters, art cards, teaching aids, and books. Her biography appears in World's Who's Who of Women in Education and also in Who's Who in American Art. She is also a book artist, whose handmade artist books have been extensively shown and published in catalogs and books.Her work has always been inspired by events in her life and her love of nature. Her current theme focuses on reflections in bodies of water, marshes and wetlands, using acrylics on canvas.
