RetiNEXT aims to become a new paradigm to traditional methods of artificial vision in areas such as navigation, visual location, image compression, target tracking, shape, color and motion detection, among others, given its innovative approach using principles from recent research in animal retinas. Thus RetiNEXT points to be incorporated into image processing systems in industries such as machine vision in cameras on mining, agriculture, fisheries applications, robotics, in stereoscopic vision sensors for faster and better performance, between many others, aiming to any system that makes use of artificial vision for its processes, to finally improve, reduce computational costs and surpass current techniques.
