Design North is housed within the Design Centre, part of the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media at the University of Sunderland in the UK. DESIGN.Our approach to teaching design acknowledges that the discipline is complex and does not stand still. New designers need to be better prepared and informed to meet future global challenges. We make sure they are.²We engage with design on many levels: as a cultural activity, and as an innovation process where design can deliver new products, new services and new ways of running or creating businesses or even new ways of doing business. We do this in local, regional, national and international contexts, realizing that the Future Professional Designer must be well-prepared and confident to work internationally.
