The new DawnBIOLOGIC division will be producing a modular set of mechanical agriculture products that allow sustainable agricultural practices to be easily adopted by a large percentage of farmers. These "soil health" farming practices are designed to reduce the use of chemical fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. They do this by maintaining plant cover on the soil throughout the growing cycle and building organic matter. The cover crops are chosen to increase the biodiversity in crop rotations and to operate in a synergistic way with the cash crops being produced on a microbial level. This type of farming requires more management than traditional farming practices and has been generally thought of as suitable only for a relatively small group of enthusiasts and early adopters. Dawn seeks to simplify the transition to bio diverse farming for a large group of mainstream farmers. We will exist at the intersection of profitability for farmers and environmental sustainability.
