We're a non-party political hub for co-operative policy development, innovation and advocacy; committed to finding better ways of working for, and with, local people for the benefit of their local community. We help Council's identify services that can be delivered more imaginatively, more cost effectively and more co-operatively. This is one of the most challenging periods in local government history. Public Sector funding continues to decline; councils are having to look for innovative ways of providing services with reducing budgets. The Network comprises 22 councils who are driving global municipal co-operative policy development with a common belief in the Values and Principles. Network members collectively govern six million people promoting the ‘co-operative difference' in all of their initiatives. The co-operative difference is about working together to learn, share and develop innovative new approaches to turning co-operative principles into local practice that makes a tangible difference across our communities.Current members as at May 2020 are:Barking & Dagenham Council Bassetlaw District CouncilBrent CouncilBristol City CouncilCheshire West & Chester CouncilCardiff CouncilCroydon CouncilGlasgow City CouncilRoyal Borough of GreenwichHull City CouncilKirklees CouncilKnowsley Metropolitan Borough CouncilLambeth CouncilMilton Keynes CouncilNewcastle City CouncilNorth Hertfordshire District Council Oldham CouncilPlymouth City CouncilPreston City CouncilRochdale Metropolitan Borough CouncilSalford City CouncilSandwell Metropolitan Borough CouncilSouthampton City CouncilSouth Ribble Borough CouncilSouth Tyneside Council Stevenage Borough CouncilSunderland City CouncilTameside CouncilTelford and Wrekin CouncilThe CCIN is a Special Interest Group of the Local Government Association.
