Cheshire Ireland provides a range of support services to people with physical, sensory and neurological conditions in their homes, in residential centres, in supported accommodation and in standalone respite facilities. We provide our services to people often with very complex and high support needs. Our aim is to provide quality, person-centred services, which facilitate people with disabilities to live a life of their own choosing.`We support people with everyday daily tasks such as those needed to get up and about in the morning, to prepare meals, to do laundry, to go shopping and to engage in social and recreational pursuits in their local community. Everything you and I take for granted as an able-bodied person. We want to support adults with physical, sensory and neurological conditions live in an environment which safeguards the individual's rights while promoting wellbeing, independence and quality of life.We want people with disabilities to have the same opportunities as anyone else....We are a nationwide organisation providing services to over 265 people in their own homes, in residential centres, in supported accommodation and in respite facilities and we were established in Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow in 1961.We support people who are aged between 18 years and 65 years (on date of admission) who have disabilities which include but not limited to Cerebral Palsy; Multiple Sclerosis; Spina Bifida/Hydrocephalus; Stroke; and Acquired Brain Injury. The main functions of staff are to support people when needed in areas such as clinical support, personal care, transfers/mobility, continence, medication management, showering/bathing, preparation of meals, eating, laundry, money management, and community involvement - supporting individuals to engage in social and recreational pursuits.
