The Belgian National Contact Point (NCP) for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises promotes and raises awareness of those OECD Guidelines and the Due diligence guidance's developed by the OECD. He also provides a non-judicial mechanism in the event of an alleged breach of the Guidelines by a company: mediation-conciliation.The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises are recommendations addressed to all enterprises operating in or from adhering countries in terms of respecting human rights, including workers'rights, preserving the environment and avoiding corruption.This mechanism enables companies, organizations and public authorities to resolve disputes regarding adverse impacts linked to their activities on matters covered by the Guidelines. Any organisation or individual may lodge a complaint with the NCP about an alleged violation of the OECD Guidelines by a company or organisation. The NCP offers a platform to find solutions through dialogue and mediation in a calm and constructive atmosphere.The Belgian NCP is a tripartie organization with representatives from federal and regional authorities, representative organisations of employers and inter-professional trade union organisations.
