We would like to take this opportunity to introduce Australian Crayfish Hatchery Pty Ltd (ACH), a state-of-the-art Redclaw crayfish hatchery facility located in Townsville, Queensland.ACH aims to improve the way production farms are managed by offering the redclaw industry a ‘batch-in, batch-out' method for stocking and harvesting production ponds. We supply high quality, disease free craylings (formally termed S3J) at suitable numbers of same age craylings, that the farmer simply adds to a prepared pond. As craylings are stocked at known numbers and uniform size, the entire pond can be harvested for market, significantly improving production and productivity. This method effectively eliminates many of the frustrations and costs associated with current stocking methods and brings the industry in-line with successful commercial aquaculture sectors such as prawn and fish.
