In Artemisia we believe in art as a tool for social change, which is why we designed a program for a community of children who live in a situation of extreme marginalization from Bucaramanga and they are part of a vulnerable population that lacks a friendly, safe and appropriate environment for their development as people with good emotional health and options for overcoming their difficult conditions.According to our social scale, these children belong to the lowest of the classification. Most of them are exposed to terrible daily situations because they are constantly left alone while their mothers are working on the streets. Through processes of artistic creation, children will learn and reinforce human values that they don't have in their communities. The program uses art as therapy from an early age and provides physical, emotional and spiritual space for children that are not used to these secure forms of human relations. We believe that Artemisia provides artistic, sensitive, practical and productive tools to create a change of perception of the world for people who have grown devoid of hope and possibilities. It is also important that these children recognize through art that their current living conditions can be improved and that they have the ability to establish new livelihoods.
