Acorn Family Place is a non-profit, community-based resource centrethat has been working with families with young children in inner-cityWinnipeg for over 25 years.Using a strengths-based approach, Acorn Family Place supportsparticipants in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence that isneeded to care for themselves and their families.Our programs and services include: quality early childhood education(free licensed childcare, parent-child activities, family outings), supportfor basic needs (drop-in, food bank, clothing, computers), education(workshops on topics including parenting, health, nutrition, conflict,healthy relationships), recreational and creative programs (music, art,bingo, physical activities), pre-employment (catering social enterpriseand supported work environment), and one-on-one support (personaldevelopment, counselling, advocacy, referrals to and from partneragencies).
