Black River Public School is a not-for-profit school chartered by Grand Valley State University and located in the historic Holland Furnace building near downtown Holland, MI. Black River serves students in grades K-12 without geographical boundaries; any student, regardless of school district, may attend. Black River offers a college preparatory liberal arts middle school and high school that employs smaller class size to create an environment thriving on participation, responsiveness, and experiential learning.Our elementary school is Montessori-based and fosters student achievement and responsibility through smaller sized classes with individualized learning plans to enhance advancement.With an integrated curriculum, demonstrating relationships among fields of study, Black River is a place for any child to experience the joys of learning.
