Julia Computing was founded by the creators of the Julia language. We help our customers solve complex and challenging computational problems that run on thousands of processors in the cloud or on matchbox sized systems in ones pocket. We operate out of Boston, New York, and Bangalore.
Julia is a new programming language that combines the productivity of R, Python, and Matlab with the performance of C and Fortran. Julia provides a sophisticated compiler, distributed parallel execution, numerical accuracy, and an extensive library of fast mathematical functions. It is being used by a number of universities for teaching and research, and by businesses in areas as diverse as engineering, finance, and e-commerce, to name a few.
Julia is an open source, modern, easy, and high performance programming language. Julia is one of the top 10 languages developed on GitHub, receiving contributions from hundreds of developers. The Julia ecosystem counts over 2,500 packages. Julia itself has been downloaded over 10 million times. The Julia co-creators received the James H. Wilkinson Prize for Numerical Software and are all co-founders of Julia Computing.
Customers and users of Julia include Government organizations such as the FAA, the Fed, DHS, NSA, the National Labs and many others. Julia is extremely popular in the finance and insurance industries, including firms such as Blackrock, Aviva, Citibank, Bank of America, and dozens of other niche firms and hedge funds. Silicon Valley firms such as Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Uber are hiring Julia programmers to build the next generation of products and services that are increasingly technical in nature.
Julia Computing, Inc. builds products for users of the Julia language, as well as provides a number of related professional services. JuliaSure provides enterprise support, JuliaTeam helps teams of Julia programmers collaborate effectively, while JuliaRun helps customers run Julia at scale.
