Wake Forest is a private, coeducational university located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Wake Forest offers the personal attention of a small liberal arts college, coupled with the breadth and global relevancy of a leading research institution. Our mission is to educate the whole person, graduating students who seek purpose-filled lives while building a community dedicated to serving humanity in the spirit of our motto, Pro Humanitate. ----- Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is a high-ranking school that offers the benefits of both a small college and a large university. For years Wake Forest has been recognized as a quality southern university by academic publications, the academic community and the general public. It is also a school that offers an intimate learning experience. Classes are small, giving students the optimum amount of interaction with professors. However, while the environment may be personal, opportunities abound. The undergraduate programs, for example, encompass traditional academics as well as less commonly offered majors. Examples of majors at Wake Forest include: * Art History * Business and Enterprise Management * Classical Studies * Computer Science * Film Studies * Medieval Studies * Religion * Sociology There are also numerous opportunities beyond the classroom. For example, a large number of students participate in study abroad programs in such cities as Vienna and London. Wake Forest also has its own student operated radio station, several student publications, including a newspaper and literary journal, as well as student clubs and organizations. Applicants will need to submit an online application, transcripts and recommendation letters. ACT or SAT scores are optional. Financial aid sources include need-based grants, loans and work-study awards. Wake Forest also offers scholarships, which are awarded to students who have outstanding grades, test scores or creative talent. Many students receive a combination of scholarships, grants, loans and work-study.
