General information and press releaseTCR was conceived by musician and photographer Roger Allen, who decided to call on experience gained whilst in Australia for filming and making Audio Visual programmes. He was also instrumental along with several others including engineer Murray Hardinge in setting up a Live to air community radio station in Australia. After retirement back in the UK, he rekindled his interest in communications and visualised a "real" community radio station on line in Kent. Community Radio means many things to many people. This station is in part experimental. Without community input it does not exist. Relying very much on enthusiastic, talented and skilled "amateur" input, Roger Allen and partner Jan-Clare Side will welcome constructive input from members of the community, including local government and business, with a view to involving local talent and skills in the development of structured programmes.Community Radio often falls foul of preconceived ideas and slumps back to commercial programming by those who run them with the best intentions.Here at TCR, we will have programmes run and produced for the community with particular emphasis on local talent. We will encourage sponsorship, but access to productive programming will be free. Our motto is "Back to the Future".
