The Syrian Australian Association of Queensland Inc. (SAAQ) is a proud Australian organisation committed to inspire generations of Australians from Syrian background. We work with settled and new incoming migrants and assist in welcoming and integrating them to their home in Queensland. Our objectives include:- Assist in promoting the Australian values and way of living within the Syrian community to foster cultural bridges - Promoting the Syrian rich culture and values within the wider public through organising and participating in a variety of cultural and social events. With over 12,000 years of recoreded history. Syrians are proud of the rich cutural and traditions that Syrian has to offer.- Support the interests of all Syrians in Australia whilst abiding by the Australian constitution, laws of the commonwealth and the state of Queensland - Listen and respond to issues and concerns raised by the community - Assist incoming Syrian migrants and refugees to settle in Australia by facilitating access to a wide range of information, services, support networks and employment opportunities
