Star789 Limited is a creative company setup with the aims of Making Learning about London Fun For Kids and also helping Children's charities with the proceeds of the sales from the paperback and eBooks plus associated merchandise. The name of the company is a direct reference to the Nelson ‘n' Deck and Friends stories and is how the main children in the stories – Jack and Keira – find out they can communicate with their new found magical friends in London – Nelson the funny looking pigeon (born at the top of Nelson's Column) and Deck the red, open-topped, RouteMaster Bus and Cab the Black London Taxi. The children just have to go into the nearest Red London Telephone box they can find, lift the receiver and dial *789 (STAR789) and their friends will come to their assistance in double quick time! London is a really special and magical place for children to visit and so for the stories we incorporated key iconic images that are instantly recognisable as being from 'London' into the Nelson ‘n' Deck Stories – Red London Buses, London Black Taxis, Red Telephone Boxes and for some people…Pigeons. The stories are subtly educational for children bringing key facts about London and places to visit into the stories for children to relate to before or after they have visited.
