Ice isn't a problem…until it is. Ice accumulation is often rapid, sometimes unexpected, and requires a prompt response. Drivers and autonomous driving vehicles require unimpaired visibility to arrive at their destinations without incident and on-time. Using our patent-pending ultrasonic technology, Shiver can remove and inhibit the accumulation of ice from a target surface. Shiver provides a solution to our customers who won't have to worry about removing ice, losing visibility and compromising safety due to obstructed windshields. The idea of Shiver was first conceptualized for the 2019 Wichita State University's Invent for the Planet (IFTP) competition. Jefferson and Raphael then took their idea further by exploring competitions and funding opportunities, including the Shocker New Venture Competition, E-Launch, Shocker I-Corps Program and the most recent E-Teams 2020 summer program from VentureWell.Shiver is capable of impacting more than 54M US car owners living in snowy regions. Of this potential, our initial target is focused on 14M vehicle drivers living in highly affected regions during the winter. Ice in less snowy regions is often more disruptive catching drivers by surprise. In these areas ice formation is an inconvenient problem that requires an immediate and urgent solution.
