Part of the Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD), Santa Ana College (SAC) serves nearly 40,000 credit and non-credit students each semester and offers 136 certificate and associate degree programs. SAC serves the residents of Anaheim Hills, East Garden Grove, Irvine, Orange, Santa Ana, Tustin and Villa Park. The college provides education for academic transfer and careers, courses for personal and professional development, customized training for business and industry, and programs to train nurses, firefighters and law enforcement personnel. ----- College doesn’t have to be a stuffy, boring experience. Schools like Santa Ana College, in Santa Ana, California, can help you prepare for the workforce in an exciting college atmosphere. While many SAC students opt to take their classes on campus, there are options for students with busy lives. The traditional online classes can be taken to fill requirements, while the unique telecourse classes allow students to view taped lectures and television programs and take on-campus exams when required by the course. Associate’s degrees and certificates, which include programs such as Auto Technology, Child Development, Criminal Justice, Engineering, Fire Technology, International Business, Journalism, Legal Assistant, Library Technology, Nursing, Paralegal, and TV/Video Communications, can be earned in about two years. Student life is filled with clubs and organizations, activities, a game room with games and music for student entertainment, and a state-of-the-art planetarium that hosts weekly shows. Other services include counseling, dining, tutoring, a health center, and a testing center. The career center helps students explore their career options as well as find employment opportunities through job boards and other career resources. Santa Ana College offers many financial aid options to those who qualify. CalWORKS supports students who are looking to work while in school, while CARE is for single parents. There are also grants, loans, federal work-study and over 90 scholarships listed on the SAC application. For more information, contact Santa Ana College today.
