Having trained as a traditional furniture maker, Ross provides a level of craftsmanship that transcends lifetimes, relying upon traditional as well as modern joinery techniques to bring his work to life. Ross relies upon small, bespoke timber mills to provide his material, ensuring that the sawmiller can personally attest to the life of the tree and it's placement within the environment.With these relationships, Ross ensures that the life of the tree is respected, and that every piece of timber is not wasted. A strong appreciation of Mid Century Modern, Bauhaus, Japanese and minimalist design oeuvres has given Ross a well of inspiration to draw upon; but it is in his resolve to create pieces that offer a new dimension that sets his work apart.
