PraisePop lets you send shoutouts and compliments to anyone within your community, all in one anonymous, live feed, where every post is traceable. Our mission is to bring communities closer by making kindness unavoidable for as many people as possible. We want to put smiles on people's faces.Users sign up for PraisePop with their organization-affiliated email address, like @andover.edu, for example. After it is verified, they see a live feed open only to their community. Users can write a post, or a "pop" as we call it, addressed to one person, a group of people, or the entire community! The recipient of a post is notified by a push notification. On the feed, users can "Pop" the kernels of the posts you like. Invite everyone to an impromptu quidditch match. Congratulate a classmate on a great speech. On PraisePop, little things make a big impact. You have the power to make someone's day. How do we keep PraisePop positive? We took every precaution to keep negativity out of our feeds. Posts reported three times are hidden from the feed, Users with two hidden posts are banned, users can delete posts about themselves, and negative words and phrases are banned. Last fall, PraisePop launched a Beta test within the Phillips Academy student body. Within 3 days, 50% of the student body had downloaded the app. Within a week, more than 3,0oo compliments flooded PraisePop, and they had received 35,000 upvotes in total. PraisePop became a constant stream of positivity for everyone in our community.
