Parenthood In Music

"Parenthood In Music" is an initiative founded by Steffi von Kannemann (owner of Better Things), Marit Posch (General Manager IDOL Germany/ co-founder of Hyper Culture), and Nicky Böhm (Senior project manager Tresor/ Atonal) to raise awareness of how parenthood influences working conditions in the music industry. The topic of equality and diversity has finally arrived as a particularly relevant topic in the music industry and is enjoying great initiatives and a general rethink among musicians. Now is the time to delve deeper into this topic and see which work models have a positive influence on our corporate culture, in which both employees and cultural workers with children can do their job stress-free and how employers benefit from it. With "Parenthood in Music" we want to clarify how parenting influences working in the music industry and sharpens the view on the topic. How do late working hours, touring, networking, creative periods, risky self-employment fit into a life of parental responsibility? What do we have to sacrifice? Which conditions / prerequisites must be met internally and externally in order to enable equal parenting and what would be the advantages - for the parents concerned, but also for the entire music industry? How do we strengthen young women and men in their desire to unite both, and when exactly do you start? Should we organize festival planning and event planning more during the day, also to include children if necessary? How do we enable fairer access to management positions and how can this create more diversity and equity?
