Maine Woods Biomass Exports, LLC is a privately held company established for the purpose of processing wood chips, for Combined Heat and Power (CHP) generation and MDF uses, in accordance to EU Phytosanitation standards and providing high quality - designer wood chips for Pellet Manufacturers both domestic and abroad. MWBE is located in Maine and has other biomass operation interests situated along the eastern coastline of the United States from Maine to Florida. The founder, associates and principals of MWBE have a combined experience in industry of over 75 years in fiber sourcing, transportation, processing and manufacturing, marketing and exporting biomass.MWBE wood chips, produced from log-length feedstock from timberlands in the vast Maine wood basket, can be processed and exported as bulk chips and or baled, wrapped and bar-coded bundles. All fiber will be harvested in accordance to Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Standards based on certain requirements intended to promote sustainable forest management and stewardship. All wood chips and export fiber shall meet Phytosanitation standards for Heat Treatment, as prescribed by the EU and monitored, inspected and tested by USDA-APHIS so as to obtain an Export Phytosanitation Certificate to be issued by USDA prior to sailing. MWBE wood chips are used in the manufacture of paper pulp, particleboard, medium density fiber board and for the generation of clean, renewable energy in biomass fired power plants.The Phytosanitation facility is anticipated to run two production lines and produce approximately 600,000 MTY of bulk and baled fiber/chips, and an additional Heat Treatment process is planned to sanitize coniferous - pine, spruce, fir and hemlock logs, for export via Searsport, Maine. Initial production is planned to produce (on an exclusive basis) up to 500,000 CBM annually of Heat Treated logs.
