At MicroQuasar Technologies, we develop efficient and sustainable advanced microplasma solutions to empower the manufacturing and prototyping of next generation applications that require high resolution and precise surface modification, using the finest maskless atmospheric-pressure plasmas (APP).Our patent-pending, state-of-the-art plasma source "MicroPulsar", is an innovative device that generates a highly stable and reactive plasma discharge, with at least 14x finer footprint than current APP devices in the market. Our high resolution Surface Atmospheric-Pressure Plasma Printing (SurfAP3) technology is powered by MicroPulsar and addresses the unmet need for maskless micrometer-scale surface modification using plasma. It can achieve precise activation, functionalization, deposition, cleaning and layer removal -without masks or patterned electrodes. Starting at 35 μm, it offers at least 14x finer resolution than comparable plasma-based solutions, while being cost-efficient and environmentally friendly, in particular when compared with wet chemistry approaches. Our innovations can be used in applications for life sciences, microfabrication, electronics, photonics and additive manufacturing, among others.MicroQuasar Technologies is a spin-off of the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology, in Greifswald, Germany.
