Since its inception in 1983, Manhattan Portage spent its early days designing bags to meet the practical needs of New Yorkers. It all started with a simple question: which alternatives could we offer to outdoor backpacks, handbags, and leather briefcases? The answer and inspiration came from the streets of New York City. What we originally designed for bike messengers and the DJ music scene has now become mainstream as multi-purpose urban gear. Since then, our messenger bags and DJ bags have become timeless classics.
