Little Grass Ranch is a haven for domestic abused horsewomen and their horses. All too often, women who are abused will not leave their abuser because they are afraid the abuser will maim or kill their horse, their pet, their family member.Since 2009, Little Grass Ranch has helped these women create an action plan and assisted them to plan their relocation. The short term goal is to educate and bring awareness to what we do. There is no other haven for horsewomen and their horses anywhere in the United States. We are the only shelter that takes into consideration the bond between a woman and their horse. We are an active member of the National Domestic Hot Line and have received calls for assistance from 38 different states.Our long term goal is to purchase a piece of land in Texas and build a permanent facility with small private houses, a ring and barn where we can house women and their horses, and assist them through educational programs, counseling and equine therapy. Everyone deserves a peaceful life free from abuse and the ability to keep their animals with them absent any fear. Donations and volunteers are welcome. We are growing!
