Kawartha Lakes Food Source (KLFS) is a not-for-profit distribution centre which supplies food and personal care items to member organizations that support individuals in need. Our 35 members include 21 schools, 8 food banks, and 6 social service agencies throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes and neighbouring communities. Our member food banks are provided with fresh eggs, milk, proteins, and produce on a weekly basis and non-perishable food and personal essentials on a monthly basis. Our mission is to ensure our members have a consistent quality and quantity of food available for their clients so they can focus on providing positive experiences to those accessing support.Although food banking remains one of our top priorities, we also run several other programs like the Summer Outreach Lunch Program, Open Gardens, Food Literacy Program, Family Cooking Project, etc., to support those suffering from food insecurity and other related issues. KLFS is committed to providing dignified and safe experiences to those accessing support.
